Wedding Terms and Conditions

1.   Definitions

The Client: The recipient of the service and name listed on the booking form.
The Artist: Elly Jayne Start.
The Agreement: The contract that exists between the client and the makeup artist for the agreed fee.
The fee: The amount payable by the client to the makeup artist for the services listed above.
The event: Relates in principle to the date whereby the event (i.e the wedding) takes place.
The party: Additional members of the bridal party.

2.   Securing the booking of the event

-The booking of the event is only reserved once the client has paid a deposit to The Artist.
-The deposit is £50, this is required to secure the event.
-Once paid this can be refunded up to 7 days after the trial if the client does not wish to go ahead with the booking.
-If the client cancels before a trial has taken place, the booking fee will not be refunded.
-Arranging a trial without paying the booking fee does not reserve the makeup artist’s services for the event.

3.   Payment

-Payments can be made in cash or via BACS, cheques will not be accepted.
-The deposit of £50 paid by the client is deducted from the wedding day fee.
-The trial is paid for at the time of trial.
-The wedding day fee is due 14 days before your date if paying via BACS. Otherwise cash on the day is fine.

4.  Responsibility of the client

The client shall inform The Artist of any issues that may affect the use of any equipment or products.  This includes but is not limited to sensitivities, allergies and medical conditions. The Artist cannot be held liable for any losses or damage that is incurred due to the client’s failure to inform the artist of any known condition.
The Artist reserves the right to refuse service to the client or members the party for, but not limited to, abusive and threatening behaviour.

5. Cancellations

-At any point the client can cancel the event by informing The Artist.
-If the client cancels a wedding booking with 90 days notice, the client agrees to pay 50% of the agreed wedding day fee.

-Any less and the client is required to pay 100% of the agreed wedding day fee.

- Wedding bookings require a min booking of 5 services. If numbers drop below after the deposit has been paid and fee agreed, the minimum spend of £400 will be charged. Only a certain number of weddings can be taken on in one year which is why a minimum spend is in place.
-Cancellations by The Artist due to circumstances including, but not limited to, problems rendering their performance and where no other suitable alternative can be given -will result in a refund to the client of the trial and booking fee. No further compensation will be offered.
-If the booking is directly affected by circumstances beyond the control of The Artist, every possible endeavor to rectify such situations will be made, however no compensation will be offered on The Artist’s part. The client is strongly advised to take out wedding insurance to cover against such situations.

6.  Exclusivity

-Exclusivity is not guaranteed for the whole day of the event, therefore timings will be seriously considered when agreeing to any booking.
-It is unlikely that there will be another event on the day; and any second event undertaken by the makeup artist will not affect the first event.
-An exclusivity fee can be arranged if preferred.
7.  Photography

The Client agrees that The Artist may use any photography for publicity purposes which include but are not limited to The Artist’s website and social media pages. If The Client is not happy with this agreement please make The Artist aware.
8.  Travel Expenses

-The Artist will travel for free within a 15mile radius of Fenstanton, Cambridge. A charge of 55p per mile will be added outside of this area including the return journey.
-The Client will cover any necessary travel expenses of The Artist as agreed at time of booking.  This is to include, should it be required, congestion charging and parking charges.

9. Venue Change

Quite often venues will not allow The Artist into the bridal suite early enough on the morning of the wedding. If The Artist has to work across multiple locations, a £25 charge per artist will be added to the  wedding day fee. A fee is added to cover time spent setting up / packing down / setting up again as this will incur an earlier start time overall.

10. Assistants

On occasion The Artist may need to bring an assistant to help out if there are time restraints. An additional £50 deposit per assistant will be taken at the time of booking. This ensures the assistant keeps the whole of your wedding morning free exclusively for your date. This will be taken off of the final wedding fee. If numbers reduce resulting in the assistant no longer being needed then the deposit will be lost. An additional travel fee may incur depending on where they are travelling from. I will notify you of full travel costs when quoting.

11. Trials

Trials are only available Monday-Thursday 10-7pm. I do not offer trials Friday-Sunday due to them being peak wedding slots.

Trials are available for The Client +  a max of 2 others from the bridal party if required due to the length of time a trial can take.
